3 miles 49:55

I am at a loss of what to do. I have figured out I can run "most" of it at the same pace as my fastest walk which give me hope. However with these STUPID shin splints I feel like I am not making any progress.

17 minute miles?? That means the marathon will take me 7 hours and 42 minutes.

I am going to push through the next few weeks and if this stays the same I am really going to have to do something about it. Maybe take time off to heal but then when I start up again its only going to be worse and I am going to be behind in my training.

One word: FRUSTRATED!!

It really will get better...I never thought I'd get past 2 miles - I get really bad sideaches. Just listen to your body (don't hurt yourself!) but keep on pushing!

At our running store they have weekly clinics where one can go in and talk with PTs about their running problems and get ideas of how to solve them. If you could find one of these that would be a great help. You also should consider that maybe you are in the wrong shoe or need more arch support of something along those lines which again a trained proffesional could help you figure out. I know when I started running I was having some problems and it took about three trys before I found the shoe and arch supports that made my pain go away. At said running store they will let you return shoes or supports that don't work for thirty days so it won't cost anything if it doesn't solve the problem.
