I was going to make another excuse not to run today and it was getting late and I did not want to be running in the dark until I have the proper gear so I used the treadmill.
It was a good gauge to see if I felt the same on the treadmill as I did in the streets.
Its so weird the first miles seems IMPOSSIBLE my breathing is bad, my lungs burn and I can not get through a whole mile running, so I walk and then coming up at the end of mile one I get this wind, this burn to just give it and I can run like the wind. And then when I am done because I do not want to over do it, it almost feels to me like I can keep going?
Dripping in sweat so I need a shower.
I wonder if its just that I am a distant runner and I need 2 miles to get warmed up??lol Well I hope so!! Time will tell with my 5 miles coming up this Sunday. Need to pace myself till then

I came across your blog on the blogger sign in page...so I'm just some random person. But I immediately empathized with your journey. I started running last fall - I was totally out of shape and had never run before in my life. Over the past (almost) year I've managed to keep it up and did a few races. Keep it up!! It has made a huge difference in my life to be able to do something that I never in a million years thought I could do. Good for you for getting started (the hardest part). My blog is at yakimafarmgirl@blogspot.com (in case you want to know who posted on your blog!).
No kidding, it really does take a mile or two for your body to find the groove and get a rhymthm.
I finally gave up trying to start out fast and gave my body the time it needs (verses what I think it should need) to warm up slowly and I find that during that first mile I want to quit, but once I get two under my feet all things seem possible.
You discovered something very important today! How cool is that?
